Since
1937 more then 31 million people have take the "standard
tour" of the Hoover Dam and Powerplant. It's a great
tour. But for many it only evoked a desire to see and learn
more. They might have said -
"Is that all there is ?"
Now there is more !
Today
interested individuals can participate in an in-depth, "hard
hat" tour of the dam and power plant. They will get a
close up look at the inner workings. These special tours require
the participants to wear hard hats. The tour will visit the
areas of the dam that are not part of the standard tour -
areas like the generator shaft gallery, the needle valve house,
the seepage gallery and sump room, and other "behind
the scenes" areas.
The "Hard
Hat" tours are offered at the Visitor Center daily.
The tour will last approximately one hour.
Tour Fee
- $25.00
A maximum
of 15 people will be allowed in each "hard hat"
tour group.
Purchase your space at any cashier station.
